Marlin Industries are the UK’s largest ISO 9001 accredited drum repair facility and have more than 20 years practical experience in the economic repair of timber cable drums. In addition we manufacture new cable drums from 600mm to 3200mm flange size to both industry standards and bespoke specifications.

NEW TIMBER DRUMS

We manufacture standard new drums from 600mm to 3200mm flange diameter and flange thickness 38mm to 100mm. Drums are supplied in accordance with ISPM15 heat treatment standard and we have the facilities for up to 200 new timber drums and 10000 plywood reels per week. Production, 24 hours per day, 5 days per week plus day work on Saturdays and Sundays.

DRUM REFURBISHMENT

We operate a truly circular business – returning, re-furbishing and remanufacturing cable drums for reuse to keep them in the supply chain for as long as possible. This reduces waste and carbon footprint of the drums by keeping them in use for longer, reducing the reliance on raw materials.

  • Refurbished Drum Sizes from 600mm to 3200mm flange diameter.
  • Our drum management schemes reduce new purchases by 60% and in some cases up to 98%.
  • Re-use drums are around 50% of cost of a new drum resulting in significant savings to customer.
  • This reduces waste and carbon footprint of the drums by keeping them in use for longer, reducing the reliance on raw materials.
  • Marlin Industries has developed their facilities and techniques to ensure that the quality, reliability and value of the product are maintained.
  • In house manufacture of new drums exists within the group but this is used only to supplement stock shortages of reuse drums.
  • No downgrading of weight carrying capacity.
  • Drums can also be supplied in accordance with ISPM 15 heat treatment standard.
  • Refurbishment of reuse drums has been developed from a replacement of damaged or rotten sections through to re-sizing and conversion to suit differing end uses (flange diameter reduction, barrel diameter increases and internal width extension/reduction) and to ensure drums are restored to a fit for use condition.
  • Refurbished drums can either be supplied fully assembled or in kit form to enable cost effective transportation to export destinations and Country of Origin.
  • We can apply a unique number to each drum. This can either be routed into the flange or a bar code label can be attached to the flange. This allows us to track the drums using these numbers, not only allowing full traceability through the repair operations, but also to track the drums enabling a service history to be created for each drum.

REPAIRS

To meet customer needs, our repair depot operates 7 days a week, with both day and night shifts, repairing on average 1000 drums per week. Up to 50,000 drums collected for recycling pa.

CONVERTED DRUMS

Drums can also be remanufactured to cable and wire manufacturer’s individual requirements and industry standard specifications where possible.

SECOND HAND

Second hand drums offer a cost-effective alternative to new as well. Utilisation of repaired cable drums not only reduces operating costs but also reduces your statutory packaging recycling obligations.
