Marlin Industries offer a comprehensive Drum Management solution to the Cable Industry.

This includes container & curtainsider off-loading of customer owned product, inspection & RH&D, internal & external hard standing storage, insurance, cutting, winding and batching down of cable, fibre and ducted products, supply of cut to length refurbished drums, on-delivery direct to end client sites including provision of loading & off-loading using 2 tonne and 3 tonne rear mounted moffett (forklift), drum collections, plus reel & drum, wood, plastic and cable closed loop recycling and all reporting required throughout the process.

CABLE DRUM MANAGEMENT

Highlighting the importance of recycling and providing systems to ensure monitoring, reporting swift and efficient collection. Damage to drums is minimised and trips per drum increased, asset utilisation is improved which maximises the useful life of a drum to the benefit of all drum users.

Measurement – Computer Tracking Systems

  • Drum number, despatch address details and site contact details are recorded electronically and transferred to a drum tracking/collection database.
  • Automatic notification when drums should be ready for collection.
  • Automatic updating when drums are returned for repair.
  • Information on the location of each drum for improved collection.
  • Possibility of reporting collections using despatch number and WAP Technology.
  • Hauliers advised electronically of collections.
  • Drum repair data traceable to last user.
  • Drum repair costs quantifiable.

  • Holding times for each cable supplier.

FLAT-PACK & RETURN

Innovative techniques adopted by Marlin, such as flat-packing drums for export sale or return to the Country of Origin for re-assembly and multiple re-use has led to significant reductions in purchasing costs for our customer base as well as providing environmental marketing benefits. Utilised for drums of flange dimension 1400mm to 2600mm.
